PNG transparency in IE6 and below

There are solutions for PNG background-images, they none of them can 
tile or position this image, for example

Conceptually, all these fixes use a proprietary filter, 
alphaimageloader. This filter cannot be tiled or positioned.

There is a discussion wether the Fireworks PNG8 format allows a graceful 
degradion for IE6 or not.
