very nice. and anyone who has a window so small to make
that act funny will be getting messy results for most web
pages, so you needn't worry.

but dang i wish there was a way to set an overall minimum
width at which point a horizontal scrollbar is provided. a pox
on ms for denying us that ruleset. we really need it.

yeah, that's the issue, even without dynamic generation;
you need to leave comments to future maintainers about
maximum sizes. have it in the code and in the style guide.

add dynamic content and you have to have some way to
sift the database by content width [watch out for PRE], and
you need to have some way of warning whoever is adding
to the database.

it's a tough issue.

url's as text add to the fun. i've already forgotten which
browser does which, but some wrap these and others don't.
[i've really got to dig up that piece of paper and add it to my
overflow notes. anyone remember off hand?]
