The menus are not actually coming up as transparent, they are however
showing up *behind* the main content. This can be fixed by giving #left_menu
a z-index that is higher than #content.
Also, in future posts, remember to say that this is a mozilla (and
derivatives) only feature. It will save people from visiting your site and
getting confused as to what menus you are talking about. :)
