"The list of keyword color names is: aqua, black, blue, fuchsia, gray, green,
lime, maroon, navy, olive, purple, red, silver, teal, white, and yellow. These
16 colors are defined in HTML 4.0 ([HTML40])." 

The colors you mention (which are X11 color names) may be included as part of
CSS3. There has been a very long (and quite dull) discussion on www-style about
this. See <http://www.w3.org/TR/2002/WD-css3-color-20020418/#x11-color>.

You should avoid at all costs currently. The only way to guarantee you get the
color you want is to exactly specify it, and not use keywords.
