It's valid, but many browsers have problems with positioning or floating
inputs and labels. Putting them both in divs is generally far more reliable.
('width: 100%' on inputs is fine so you can size the divs how you like too.)

Note that if you put a single form element in a positioned element it will
break Netscape 4, whose object model requires that each whole form reside
within a single layer. Best hide such styles from N4.
