Except... didn't we decide that there are exceptions?  Like, floated
block-level A's work without a specified width.  However, that was under
the doctrine of "replaced elements" ... I dunno if tables count.

Weeell, tables have a tendency to be very insistent about their width,
so it might be easier to leave it unsized... maybe it makes more sense
in context.
