You'll find a great deal of information about CSS and it's practical uses in the CSS-D Wiki [1]. Especially check the section on "Learning" . There is a section on Books there. A google on css + books [2] returns a large number of resources. In addition to Dan Cederholm's books, you should also consider any of the books by Eric Meyer. Especially "Cascading Style Sheets, the definitive guide" (second edition).
