Hey there,
My question is: are people making as much of an effort to pursuade
perl/cgi programmers to swap to xhtml and css as they are 'web
designers'? (can't think of the correct term there).
Something that's been bothering me for quite some time is the use of
css in the many perl scripts there are out there.
Whenever I get a script (I'm currently having a play with a calendar
one, http://www.orchard.it > other > calendar) I have to spend ages
going through the code removing all their 'hard-coded' font tags,
center tags and so on.
How much easier the whole thing would be if they were all ref'd to a
style sheet. I guess the majority of them were made before browsers
supported css to any extent.
I've just written to the guys who make the calendar script I'm trying
to use to suggest they swap over to a style sheet and offer my help
(what little there is).
So, do you think this area lag behind regular page development in the
uptake of css and xhtml? And if so, can anything be done?
cheers - dunstan
