Hi there
I have been trying very hard to design my new site using CSS and despite all
the whacky things that happen during the initial learning curve - I've hung
on in there and soldiered on because all the things I have read about CSS
have lead me to believe that it is worth putting in the effort.
Now, I have been working on a mac and have had three browsers open for
testing ,IE 5, Opera 5 and Netscape 6. After much juggling a and brow
beating I finally managed to get three pages looking pretty much the same in
all browsers.
But when I uploaded and looked through the latest IE browser for PC - I felt
like throwing myself and the PC out of our window - (which is 8 flights from
the ground!).
I had put a border in ems round the body - that sort of frames the page but
with white margin outside of it, so that the little logo near the top
crosses through the border on the left - so that the border appears to run
out of the top and the bottom of the logo.
In the same manner, the images should have a white margin between the image
and the border. But on a pc all of this margin has vanished. The body border
is right out at the edge of the page and the borders around the images are
directly round the images!
If anyone has any ideas - it is perfectly possible that it is something very
simple as I am very new to this- I would be SO grateful for any help /
advice.
TIA
Maria
