Newcomer to CSS

I think we can all sympathize with you... at least, when I was first
tackling a pure-CSS layout, it was quite the frustrating experience.
So, don't feel like a loser because this stuff ain't exactly trival to
master in the beginning.

One thing you can do on your own and it will help with the learning
curve:

** validate your code first **

Run your CSS (and while you're at it, your HTML, too) through the W3's
validator[1] and fix any errors that you may find.  I can't tell you how
many times a simple syntax error like forgetting the ending ";" cleared
things up and the validator is really good at finding those details that
can be overlooked.

If you still have problems after that, be more specific about the
problem when you write to the list so we can try and help.  Like, "why
does my navigation container move to the bottom of the page?" would
probably be more helpful than, "what did I do wrong?".
