Is it possible to give a <div> a background image that can extend partially off-screen if the browser window isn't wide enough to display all of it? This 700px-wide <div> must remain horizontally centered in the window as long as the window is greater than 700px (plus scrollbar). Here's what I mean: <http://beta.albany.k12.or.us/css-discuss-demo.gif>. The <body> already has a background. If not background-image, what other property or method? It must be IE/Moz/Safari-compatible.
