Allegedly simple positioning problem with CSS

Sent by Thomas W. Bickle on 9 June 2005 17:05

Hello,

I am making my second big push into abandoning tables and designing/laying
out entirely with CSS. My first attempt ended in defeat.

I have a page I am working with, where I want to put groups of information
(images and text) into a series of rows, with two columns. Here's a link:
http://tombickle.com/files/test/board_only.html

I simply want one group to sit to the right of the other group, on the same
horizontal plane. I have placed a simple table below the first two images
to illustrate what I want, if it helps.

I am familiar with the syntax of CSS, but I am obviously still learning
about positioning and flow. I'm not a TOTAL noob, so feel free to speak at
a normal pace. I would really love a solution to my little problem, but
would also really appreciate links to articles that may be helpful with my
particular brand of stupidity. I'm having trouble finding the RIGHT
material on CSS positioning in the mountain that's out there.

Please help. Thanks a bunch.

Tom
