Question about a DHTML Menu and a Bit of Strangness in IE 6 in some iterations of the browser

Sent by Bill Reynolds on 5 May 2005 03:03

Hi All!

Long time lurker here - first time I have needed to ask a question.

I have a site that I am developing here:
http://www.reynolds-lux.com/semtorq/semtorq-website.html and have used a new
DHTML creation program that I am really impressed with - saved me a couple
of hours of programming. I am wondering if some of you with access to a Mac
will let me know if the menus on the left-hand side, in white, function.
Most of the top menu selections should bring up a child menu. I have not
been very successful in finding similar menuing systems that work with the
Mac using IE 5.5.

Also, I am experiencing a strange effect on the buttons on the top
right-hand side of the page. In HomeSite, I have seen a dotted marquee
rectangle show up when you click a button. I was under the impression that
HomeSite 5 uses IE6 as its browser base in preview mode. I have tried the
Explorer Fix JavaScript out there to see if that was the problem -and I even
rewrote the JavaScript to make sure that IE 6 was being covered. This did
not seem to help. When I look at the page in IE 6, Mozilla and Netscape I
don't experience this problem. I have removed the Explorer Fix script, and
would like to know if anyone is experiencing this problem - and please let
me know the Machine/OS/Browser versions if possible.

Thanks,
Bill Reynolds
