'transparent' as border-color: well-supported?

You're right.

I swear to God that IE has been purpose-built with the sole objective of
frustrating my web designs. It's not a web browser, it's 19MB of
calculated sadism with an icon on it.

Thank you; I guess it's time to go back to the drawing board.
