if you can not target with xhtml strict

Cool.
The only thing I'd suggest to change is

> ls[i].onclick=function(){window.open(this.href);return false}

- you shloud return the result of opening the window, not only false
- what about this.target? In DOM is target allowed (thus it can be done 
only by scripting, not by the document itself, which I understand as a 
separation of content and behavior here...)
