stretching divs to 100% w/o images or negative margins

Sent by benjamin grosser on 5 April 2005 05:05

Given 3 left-floated divs (as columns) inside a container div, each
with varying amounts of content--is there any way to force each of the
divs to the same height--*without* using either the faux columns
method or the negative margin side swapping method?

I've read the pages listed here:

   http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=AnyColumnLongest

and have scoured the web, but can't find a solution.

The faux columns won't work for me on this one because I am
implmenting separated semi-transparent blocks as the columns. I'm
starting to believe this just isn't possible at all with CSS.

thanks,
ben
