Fwd: Horizontal Nav - Entire width of container

Sent by Frank Manno on 1 April 2005 20:08

Hey all,

I'm in a bit of a quandry at the moment... I've got a horizontal
navigation (unordered list) that sits within a containing DIV with a
width of 569px. At the moment, I have 4 navigation items, each with a
bg color and a 1px border on the right of each link.

The problem I have is that the width of the total nav items doesn't
equal the width of the containing DIV (569px), so when hovering over
the last link, the hover state leaves a noticeable color difference
between the LI and it's underlying UL.

Is there a way I can stretch the nav items (list items) so that they
will stretch the entire width of the containing DIV? I also need to
keep in mind changing font sizes...

I'd appreciate any help on this...

TIA!
