Indeed! The main problem in general with DHTML replacements like this is 
accessibility, though. For example, in this script the selectalikes are 
not operable by keyboard, which might be a bad thing if the audience 
includes a lot of laptop users, for example (not to mention special 
needs users).

Much of the OS functionality can be emulated with eg. links with 
onkeypress handlers. But it's really rather involved and you still can't 
quite catch *everything*, unfortunately. In summary, argh.

Perhaps it might be worth adding an option for 'only intervene for 
browsers that won't size <option>'?
