Cross-Platform Font Declarations

Because not everyone has the same set of fonts, the font-family property  
has a special characteristic. it gives the author the illusion that they  
can control the display in the visitor's system. A typographer pays  
particular attention to the cross platform similarity of the fonts, and  
the *preferential order* in which they are listed; and, has the last ditch  
attempt at control, by specifying a generic font style like serif or  
sans-serif or monospace...
