Hi,
I am in charge of redesigning & building my company's web site. The issues I
am having are with IE/Win 6. The site displays almost perfectly in almost
all major browsers except IE. [IE/Mac has issues as well, but the site's
main user agent is IE/Win 6.]
My test files are located at: http://www.t2000inc.com/test/index.html
My style sheet: http://www.t2000inc.com/test/techcss.css
If you view it in Mozilla, Firefox, or Netscape 7 [Mac or PC], you can see
how it is supposed to look, or here:

Viewing it in IE 6.0 will show you the error, or here:

1: The header is composed of three graphics, all lined up at the top. The
left & right graphics are 158 px high, with the center graphic [PDA man] 249
px high. The PDA man in the circle is supposed to float over top part of the
content box. In IE, he slips behind it. The text is also farther down on the
page in IE than it should be. I have no idea why the text is not lining up
right underneath the search div.
The menu & header divs have a z-index of 100 & 10, respectively. The content
div has a z-index of 0. This seems to work for everyone by IE. Does IE not
support z-index or is there something missing from or wrong with my CSS?
2: The drop-down menus are from Gazingus.org. In all other browsers, the
menus pop-down underneath the proper heading, with the left margin of the
menu lining up with the beginning of the menu heading.
Since I added the "margin: auto" to the page, the lists are no longer lining
up with the proper heading in IE. In fact, they pop-down as if the page was
flush left. Does that make sense? This problem gets worse as the browser
window gets larger. What is causing this? Has anyone else run into this
problem with the Gazingus menu? Let me know if I should clarify this with
screen caps.
I really appreciate any tips or help. I am new to the list & CSS, but I have
been been able to solve two other issues just from reading all of the posts
from the last few days. Thanks!
Anne
