It would be nice to know why this is happening, but I agree with David. As you've seen, if the browser has a problem displaying the font (for whatever reason), it doesn't degrade to anything satisfactory. Go for images with a bit of helpful alt text for screen readers. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL-REMOVED] [EMAIL-REMOVED]]On Behalf Of David Dorward Sent: 25 February 2005 14:55 To: [EMAIL-REMOVED] Subject: Re: [css-d] Firefox font problem On Fri, 25 Feb 2005 09:07:14 -0500, Lowell Allen [EMAIL-REMOVED]> wrote: > Example: <http://www.williamsauction.com/ca_all.php> -- There should be > up arrows and down arrows at the top of each column, but the Webdings > font isn't being used in Firefox, which shows "5" and "6". But since you can't ensure that the user will have that font (or that they will allow webpages to specify the font, or that they are using a browser where the term font means anything (screen readers anybody?)), then you might as well just use images to start with. -- David Dorward <http://dorward.me.uk><http://blog.dorward.me.uk> ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [EMAIL-REMOVED]] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/ ______________________________________________________________________ css-discuss [EMAIL-REMOVED]] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/
