Odd behaviour in Opera

Sent by Mike Davies on 8 February 2005 13:01

I have designed a site for a client viewable at
www.integrawebdesign.co.uk/kirkhill/index.htm
www.integrawebdesign.co.uk/kirkhill/kirkhill.css

The header has h1 and h2 tags replaced by images using a negative
text-indent. This works fine in FF, IEWin and IEMac. However, in Opera
the last part of the h1 text is still in view. Changing the size of the
text-indent does not appear to alter this, I can only remove it by
actually deleting that part of the text.

Also, only in Opera, a horizontal scroll bar appears and the page
appears to be extremely wide, beyond the window. Scrolling across shows
some page image at the far right which repeats the page content but is
unreadable.

I have tried to validate both the html and css files but get invalid
results, most of which I cannot understand as the indicated errors don't
seem to me to be present, but that's another issue.

I would appreciate any comments with regard to the Opera issues.

TIA,
Mike
