Thanks to the suggestions I received regarding the floats on my webpage and the bottom margins, I
've been able to layout
my webpage in FF just about exactly the way I'd like. Now on to Win IE.
Actually, there are fewer problems than I'd expected. I'd anticipated and prevented some of the more
obvious ones (such as
the IE box model problem).
But there is one that is still baffling me. I'd like the baseline of the navigation menu and the
section heading to line up with
the baseline of the word "Monell" in the logo gif I'm using as the background image. I'm satisfied
with the way this is
displaying in FF (it isn't perfect, but close enough that I won't worry about it until all other
problems in the major browsers
are resolved and the site is completely up). But in Win IE, the navigation menu and section heading
are distinctly positioned
above the Monell baseline. I can't seem to figure out why. I've tried using the voice-family hack to
adjust the vertical
positioning through padding and margins, since Eric Meyer proposed that the voice-family hack could
be applied in more
situations than just the box model problem (http://www.ericmeyeroncss.com/bonus/trick-hide.html). No
luck. Any
suggestions?
The webpage is at html://www.monellphoto.com/test/services.html
The css is at html://www.monellphoto.com/test/objects/monellstyle.css
Any help would be appreciated. And if anyone notices any quirks in FF that I have missed, please let
me know.
Thanks!
- Derek
