Thank you for the reply and the link - the gif flashing & jumping in
firefox was apparently caused (somehow - I do not have mastery over
these things) by the script running the stock ticker, which I removed.
As far as the simple existence of the animated ad banners go, my hands
are tied by those who write my paychecks. Sometimes it's really good to
have a full-time 'web guy' sort of position, sometimes it isn't. :/

There are *more* *serious* problems with these pages. Some of the (how
many?) flashing moving things on the page are causing flashes of such
size an area as to be close to the thresholds for triggering
photosensitive epilepsy. Fix those first and it might be easier to
diagnose the original complaints.
