A way to code a hyperlink?

It's a nifty idea, but unfortunately the highlighted tabs are still 
links. If the cursor type were set to pointer in the same style block, 
users who look at the page with CSS turned on might not notice that they 
were links, but all other users would.

This issue of pages linking to themselves is a thorny one, since many 
web developers aren't bothered by it, and they don't understand why 
others should be. But a fair number of people (many of whom are 
otherwise intelligent and web-savvy) are confused by it, and I think it 
is worth avoiding.
