Yes.  The recent threads on margin collapsing. ;-)  No hard feelings 
though -- it's funny how topics here always come in waves.  This week 
everyone is having trouble with margin collapsing, next week it will be 
3 pixel gaps, the next week it will be float drops, etc. :-)

But anyway, the gaps are due to the fact that vertical margins that 
touch basically merge together.  Borders or padding that separate 
adjacent margins stop the collapsing.  Read here for more:
