fixed columns CSS design - a few bugs

Sent by Anton Outkine on 16 December 2004 16:04

good day

i'm getting a layout done,
please have a look:

http://beta.aienn.com/css-discuss/btest.html

it should display pretty consistent in Firefox (PC), MSIE 6 and Opera 7
(and I'll eventually fine-tune it to work in Safari; there are a few hacks
for MSIE and Gecko - notably [id] and positioniseverything's clear:both
hack)

however. please notice the red line border near footer and green square
border on a side list. if i remove them, some ugly gaps appear in certain
browsers (Firefox, Opera). these borders are, well, superfluous to the
design

um. do I miss something ?

will be glad to hear any comments or suggestions

a.
