Since my post from 2 days ago, never arrived, i`m resending this ;)
hi,
since someone asked me recently to help them out w/ a webpage, i
decided to stop being an ass, and to just write the thing in
xhtml/css. after reading up on the font size issues i decided to go
w/ @import (NYPL style), but somehow it's not working out for me,
even after i validated the hell out of xhtml. The page is valid now
in trans. xhtml, but not so in css, where i keep getting "parse
errors".
I know that a doc parse tree is just a structural tree layout, but
still don"t know where i'm going wrong (b/c i'm doing this for the
first time, and i suck).
In the meantime, i'll just try to go w/ owen briggs' percentage/em
combo, but if anyone could help me figure this out for my own sake,
i would be more than greatful.
a sample page is here:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~kh3s-yssf/keep/forreal/tryingtablesandcss.html
w/ both stylesheets:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~kh3s-yssf/keep/forreal/style3a.css
and
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~kh3s-yssf/keep/forreal/style3a-simple.css
i threw in a simple table for keeping at least the simple structure
in older browsers, and just, you know, ignore the horrendous paste
job from a botched up html file ;)
would be great to hear back from someone,
all the best, sandra
