Battling with drop down menus - is this possible?

Sent by Julian Voelcker on 14 December 2004 09:09

I am trying to create a drop down menus based on bulleted lists and
have so far created a demo at:

http://www.touchstone.org.uk/menutest.html.

I have been battling with this for a while and would appreciate some
input. Are any of the following possible?

Ideally I want to have the top list to be centred in their boxes and
have them stretch automatically across the full width of the screen -
the stretching isn't essential, but preferred.

I want the drop down menus to appear directly below their 'tab' rather
than below the centre line - I guess this is down to the centreing of
the top tabs.

Ideally I don't want the menu text to wrap, so when menu appears it's
width is determined by the longest list item.

And finally I seem to be getting odd lines appearing in some of the
drop downs - can any of you see why?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
