border affects spacing in IE6

what browser/OS are you using?  
i'm on XP.  when looking at either site using FF they look the same
and i would guess layed out correctly.  when using IE6 both sites look
the same but the margins in your left navbar look like they aren't
set. (i haven't looked at the code)
you may want to validate your html and CSS as there are some errors. 
and you may want to add a doctype at the top of your html.  without
the doctype i believe IE goes into quirks mode and that may be causing
the problem you're speaking of.
