positioning a navbar at the bottom of the page

Craig, could you be more explicit about the nature of your 
dissatisfaction?  In Firefox I can see some cosmetic problems -- I'd add 
more top & bottom padding, and adjust the hover properties so that the text 
doesn't shift down onmouseover (at least so it doesn't partly disappear 
from view) -- but which problems are you wanting to fix?
