Sorry, I got a bunch of the version numbers wrong in my previous post.
Apple Safari web browser is only at version 1.2.x.

To correct the final paragraph:
I don't know what all the differences are between Safari 1.0 and 1.2, but
I'm sure there are many. Safari developers are very pro-active, quick to
respond to CSS bug reports, and are making great strides in CSS support,
and Safari is excellent generally with CSS. I do know that most CSS
dropdown menus have a major problem in Safari 1.0.x (which I still use),
but work well in Safari 1.2.
