The test-case [1] I'm currently working with floats some <li>s within a <ul>. I want it to have a black background, but since the <ul> collapses in IE, I'm having some trouble. I've already tried using the .clearfix [2] solution, but it's not working for me. Near as I can tell, my XHTML and CSS are valid, except for one CSS error that I'm told by the W3C's specs [3] is not actually an error. Has anyone else had experience with this or any solutions to offer?
