Let alone for a moment the non standard and buggy IE/Win behaviour.
You don't like the standard behaviour (of Mozilla, for example) because in
case of wide content (like a table) in your main column and narrow browser
window, you have (looking at the right, after scrolling) the table
extending till the window edge, while the other lines of content appear
narrower. Is this what you are saying or am I misundertanding?
