Problem with relative/absolute divs in Safari (?and PC?)

Sent by Tracy Shorrock on 30 October 2004 09:09

Hi,

I'm having problems with div position: absolute/relatives in Safari. It
works perfectly in Mac Firefox and Mac IE 5.2, however it goes to
pieces in Safari. I haven't even had time to test on a PC yet, and
already there are problems. Hopefully, as it works well in IE 5.2 I'm
keeping my fingers crossed that it will behave in PC IE versions.

The page can be found at:

The main css can be found at:

There is also a <style> statement and some inline styles in the
portfolio_2.html document itself. I imagine the problem is something to
do with the absolute position of the "P7ShowPL1", "P7ShowPL2", etc
divs. and the other styles, but i just can't figure out why, where, or
how.

Some screenshots:

Good:

Bad (... and ugly!):

Why is the large photo 'hugging' the left side of the browser window in
Safari? And is it doing this in PC browsers as well?

TIA.

Cheers,

Tracy
