CSS Background problem

Sent by Kevin Switzer on 29 October 2004 17:05

Well I don't even want the columns to go all the way to the footer..
here is the concept I'm working from..

http://clients.stamats.com/irvine/comp/home2.htm

As you can see the left and right columns don't go all the way down. I
just can't figure out how to the background behind those columns to be
white, while the actual page background is grey.

Thanks.

Welcome to the world of faux columns
http://www.alistapart.com/articles/fauxcolumns/
Depending on what you are trying to achieve, you will either apply the
background to your body or to a wrapper div.
We are using it with our site on the wrap div and the footer sits
outside this div. The footer has a background that caps of the bottom of
this faux column.
