Equal-height columns & IE.

I should add that the script itself does actually seem to work fine in
IE on the page where it originated:
http://www.saila.com/attic/sandbox/set-height.html.

Similarily, a similar script also works fine in IE, found here:
http://www.paulbellows.com/getsmart/balance_columns/

Which, I suppose, points to a problem with my implementation. But I
can't figure out what it might be about that layout that would crash IE.
