A Mac is not a browser. Do you mean IE/Mac? Safari/Mac?

Too bad! IE doesn't support :hover on non-links. To create a drop down
menu using CSS you need to use the :hover state on non-links.
Such menus have various accessibility issues anyway (the user has to
track the menu exactly without sliding off the side, and you can't
activate them without a pointer control).
Just use JavaScript, or (probably a better solution) forget about
using drop down menus altogether.
