I assume you mean that you style sheet includes four styles which match
a elements under various states.

So use a different tool to write your CSS; one which doesn't force you
to use selectors you do not want to.

A story that probably involves users being lost and unable to recognise
your links for what they are. However, I fail to see why you wish to
avoid declaring styles for those pseudo-classes when you wish a plain
presentation rather then the default underlined and coloured.
