Conditional Comments for multiple IE

As I was privatly asked "But why would one do that? 
Why not just changing the vector version in the CC?",
I'll add a view words to clarify the above:

Because each of the installed IE browsers (in my case IE 6.0,
IE 5.5 and IE 5.0) will respond to the CC with the highest
version number (in my case with 6.0).

I did not mean to set the version vector from 5 to 6 or vice versa,
but to eliminate it once and for all by renaming the key "IE" to 
"zIE". After that CC will still recognize values 5, 5.0, 6 and 6.0, 
but not 5.5, as I said before. 

On the other hand you have to change the version on the cc statement
every time you change your (IE) browser in the course of testing;
also, you might wish to have more than only one cc statement in your
html.
