Hello all
I'm a CSS newbie trying to help a friend set up a website for her
one-woman business. After my first posting I was directed to Eric
Meyer's splendidly presented More Eric Meyer on CSS (thanks Justin
Belcher for pointing me towards Meyer) and I have hastily tried to
swallow chapters 5 & 6 on list-based menus and css driven drop-down
menus. I'm suffering from an acute case of indigestion and panic!
Can someone please help me make my drop-down menus work? I have put
the files up on www.francesallen.com/ventura/eng/ and the style sheet
is www.francesallen.com/ventura/css/newcss.css. An example of my
drop-down attempt is at 'About us'.
There are two main problems:
1 They don't work at all on IE (neither on my Mac or on IE/Win - I
have to drive six miles into town every time I want to check on a PC
....)
2 They sort of work on Safari and Netscape for Mac: that is, they
appear if I click on a main link (not just hover) and then move the
mouse fractionally
I somehow suspect the problem may lie in a conflict between the code
for showing current page and that for the drop-down menus. Also, I
know I'm going round in circles trying to decide where to put
information about colour etc .
Any help would be MOST appreciated
Frances
