IE 6.0 - Font size issues

Sent by Francois Jordaan on 15 July 2004 19:07

Jacobus,

Hey, I'm glad to see the web standards meme has made it as far as South
Africa. Mooi so, knap gedaan, ens.

Regarding the problem you mention, I'd be amazed if MS caused an effect like
that with a security patch, without howls of outrage all over the internet.

Mine is, let's see...
XP SP1 with IE 6.0
Version: 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633
I've got the same service packs as you installed, except for Q823353. I've
also got several others you don't list. We're pretty regular with security
patches here, and at no point did I notice any change in IE.

As I said, I sincerely doubt that's the cause of the problem you're seeing.
Check View: Text Size and make sure you've got it set to medium. It's easy
to accidentally change the text size (Control + mousewheel) and not realise
it.

Yes. Px units in IE is impervious to the browser's Text Size settings or
default size. But relative units, like small/medium/large, will be affected
by the Text Size settings, or the browser's default size, if that has
changed as you assert.
