Mozilla display: table-cell problem

Sent by Zoe M. Gillenwater on 15 July 2004 15:03

In May I had the list check out a layout I was working on that used
display: table-cell in everything but IE to create a layout that would
expand to hold content of various sizes (in my case, very large data
tables). All seemed well enough, but the project got put off. I'm back
on it now, but had to add a header image within the content area. When
I do this, for some reason Mozilla browsers push the sidebar content
down until the image is over. The sidebar content starts on the same
level that the first paragraph in the content area starts. I'm baffled
as to why this is. Opera does not do this, nor does IE (which is fed a
float layout via conditional comments).

How can I get #inputbox back up on the same level as the top of the
image, like it should be?
