Multi-row navigation using unordered lists

Sent by Nic Rodgers on 8 July 2004 15:03

I'm trying to create a navigation bar that spans two rows, eg:

button1 button2 button3 button4
button5 button6 button7 button8
(4 buttons per row)

I've done this by floating the list items to the left, and placing a clear:
left on button5. Works great in Mozilla and Safari, but doesn't display as
intended on IE and Opera. Instead, they display:

button1 button2 button3 button4 button6 button7 button8
button5

Minimal reduced-case example URL: http://www.clockerz.net/~nic/lists.html

Can anyone shed any advice on the best way to get this working?

Thanks in advance,
Nic.
