CSS padding/margin/border in IE and Firefox

Sent by Peter L. Schlueter on 25 June 2004 14:02

When you have <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> at the head of your
document, IE goes into quirks mode. Removing this may help put IE back
into standards mode.

Subject: [css-d] CSS padding/margin/border in IE and Firefox

<<Hi

I'm trying to do something incredibly trivial: place an image in the
(horizontal) centre of a page with a 4px white border then a 1px black
border.
