I didn't say your problem was specifying widths. I said the problem was
your display: block on the <a>'s. However, you will need to add widths
for MacIE's benefit or float the <a>'s as well.

Right, I already told you -- get rid of the display: block. You also
don't need the display: inline on the ul.
By the way, please don't rename a thread without noting what the old
subject was. Like this:
Vertical align inside DIV [WAS Re: [css-d] Horizontal inline UL LIs and
not specifying width]
I had a hard time going back through the archives to find the message I
sent you because you had renamed the thread.
