trying to go tableless in IE

Sent by Ted on 30 March 2004 20:08

I have been working on a redesign for the following site that was originally a
table based design. See an example page here:

http://www.comcastnews.com/new/videopopulate.asp?CatID=1&StateID=1

I have made the template design table-less, but a lot of the generated code is
still built on table. My problem right now is that on the above page, IE
renders the grouping of video's at the bottom of the page, /sometimes/, instead
of in the middle of the background.

If you visit the page and it does render it properly, click on home and then hit
your back button, and you may see it render it improperly. If it does not
render it properly, hit refresh a couple of times and it will render properly.

Is this behavior because of IE having to render the tables and it gets a little
confused as to where they are supposed to be?

I will work on the scripting to render the video's in a table-less design, but I
wanted to see if the problem was just because of the tables or if there is
something else going on here.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Ted
