How do I get embedded quicktime to validate?

IOW, I fail to see how your query is related to CSS.

Anyway, the answer is that you'd need to fix that in the doctype
declaration subset; due to limitations in web browsers (they don't do
anything with doctype declarations by ISO 8879 defined means -- quite
the opposite, which raises the question why you would want to care
about validation in the first place) you'd need to use an exclusive
system identifier, see e.g.:
