It seems I was just a bit too quick on sending this email.
instead of using the shorthand list-style in the way I'd expect to use
it and as I've read in the docs with the three values for bullet type,
position, and image, I can just type list-style: none; and be done with
it. This seems to work across all the browsers that I can find
including win and mac operas.
