List nav spacing problem in MSIE

Thank you Lowell, Russell, Michael and Patrick! That was driving me 
nuts!

For those of you who use GoLive, I was able to make this change 
automatic and permanent by going to Web Settings -> Markup -> HTML -> 
Elements -> li and set Output Separation to none for both inside and 
outside (in the Inspector).
